Maybe during thunder storms as a child or when watching a very scary movie J.
On a more serious note, we live in a dangerous world and there are some real and valid reasons to be scared. Knowing someone is there to protect you is comforting. It makes you feel safe and give you a sense that you will be ok no matter what.
Safety to me means that absolutely nothing on this earth can separate us from the love of God.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV)
We will always experience “scary” moments in our lives. That will never change. But God will never let us fall beyond the point where it is impossible for us to be caught before we hit rock bottom. Even though we feel that we are already there sometimes.
It is natural and ok to be scared. We must just never forget that we can always find safety, love and protection in His arms.
